PLAN3D contributes to the advancement in surgical simulation with 3D ear modeling

At Plan3D, we are very proud and happy to announce that we have once again been part of the publication of a scientific article highlighting the use of one of our simulators.

Entitled “Elaboration of a 3D ear model for surgical anatomical training”, this project represents a new milestone in the development of innovative tools for surgical training.

The study aimed to create a three-dimensional ear model that allows specialists to study its anatomy and practice surgical techniques. Our team designed a digital temporal bone based on a CT scan of a healthy patient. We then printed four versions of the model, achieving an accurate anatomical representation.

This work involved the participation of industrial designers, otolaryngologists and neuroradiologists, demonstrating how the union of different disciplines can generate exceptional results.

The model developed offers multiple benefits, especially in the stages of resident training, by providing a reliable and accessible tool for surgical learning and practice.

We would especially like to thank Dr. Pamela Mena, whose knowledge and experience were key to the success of this project.

At Plan 3D, we remain committed to developing technologies that drive innovation and bring value to society – this is just the beginning of many promising initiatives!
